The SASSETA bursary in South Africa is open to citizens who meet specific academic and other requirements set by the bursary provider. While the exact criteria may change over, below are the current qualifications that applicants need to meet to be considered for the Bankseta Bursary:
- You must be South African
- You must be between 18 and 35 years old
- Matric or equivalent completed
- You must be registered to study a course that is scarce and vital to the banking industry such as:
- Artisan and Engineering Programmes addressing Skills for the Economic Reconstruction and Recovery Plan
- Clinical Social Work
- IT Programme Analysis
- IT Programme Development
- IT Software Development
- LLB
- Nursing
- Paralegal Studies
- Pharmacy
- Psychology
- Security Management
- Currently studying OR admitted to study at a recognized tertiary institution in South Africa (University or TVET College)
- Currently studying OR accepted in the banking and microfinance sector
- You must have a total household income of less than R600 000 per annum
- You must NOT be receiving any other bursaries or grants
- You must NOT be employed for the duration of the programme
Preference will be given to students with disabilities, financially disadvantaged students and students with good academic performance
