Track your application to University of the Free State. Learn how to check your admission status and what each status means.
How to Check Your Status
- Visit the UFS application status portal
- Enter your ID number or passport number
- Enter your student/reference number (if required)
- Click "Check Status" or "Submit"
- Your current application status will be displayed
What You'll Need

- • Student number or reference number from your application
Common Status Meanings
Pending / Received
Your application has been received and is in the queue for processing.
Under Review
Your application is being evaluated by the faculty/department.
Accepted / Admitted
You have been offered a place. Follow the instructions to register.
Rejected / Declined
Your application was not successful. You may appeal.
Waitlisted
You may be offered a place if space becomes available.
