Edutel offers a course in the Foundation Phase, which is the first phase of primary education in South Africa. The course is designed to provide teachers with the skills and knowledge they need to teach children in Grades R to 3.
The course covers a range of topics, including child development, language and literacy, mathematics, and life skills. It also includes practical training, where students are required to complete classroom observations and teaching practice.
The Foundation Phase course at Edutel is accredited by the South African Council for Educators (SACE), which means that it meets the requirements for teacher registration and professional development. The course is also aligned with the National Curriculum Statement (NCS), which sets out the learning outcomes and assessment standards for the Foundation Phase.
Upon completion of the course, graduates will have the knowledge and skills required to teach young children effectively and provide a solid foundation for their future learning. They will also be eligible for registration with SACE as qualified Foundation Phase teachers.
