- Increased need to drink fluids: People with dry mouth may feel the need to drink more fluids to relieve the dryness in their mouth.
- Difficulty speaking or swallowing: Dry mouth can make speaking and swallowing difficult.
- Cracked lips: Dry mouth can cause the lips to become dry and crack.
- Sores in the mouth: Dry mouth can cause sores or ulcers in the mouth.
- Bad breath: Dry mouth can lead to bad breath due to the lack of saliva to wash away bacteria.
- Changes in taste: Dry mouth can cause changes in taste, making food seem less flavorful.
- Difficulty wearing dentures: Dry mouth can make it difficult to wear dentures comfortably.
- A dry feeling in the throat
- A burning or tingling sensation in the mouth and especially on the tongue
- A dry, red, raw tongue
- Hoarseness, dry nasal passages, sore throat
