How to Check Your NSFAS Status
- Visit the official NSFAS portal at my.nsfas.org.za
- Click on 'Login' or 'Create Account' if you don't have one
- Enter your username (ID number or email) and password
- Click 'Login' to access your NSFAS account
- Navigate to 'My Applications' or 'Application Status' section
- View your current application status and any messages from NSFAS
- Check for any required actions or documents needed

| Application Submitted | Your NSFAS application has been successfully submitted and is in the system. |
| Filtering | NSFAS is filtering your application to check if you meet the basic eligibility criteria. |
| Validation | Your application documents and information are being validated. |
| Evaluation | Your application is being evaluated against NSFAS funding criteria. |
| Funding Eligible | Congratulations! You have been approved for NSFAS funding. |
| Awaiting Registration | Your funding is approved. Waiting for your institution to confirm your registration. |
| Registered | You are registered at your institution and NSFAS funding is active. |
| Awaiting Academic Results | NSFAS is waiting for your academic results to determine continued funding eligibility. |
| Academic Eligibility Confirmed | Your academic results meet NSFAS requirements for continued funding. |
| Payment in Progress | NSFAS is processing your allowance payment. |
| Payment Made | Your NSFAS allowance has been paid to your institution or bank account. |
| Application Unsuccessful | Your application did not meet NSFAS funding criteria. You can appeal this decision. |
| Appeal Submitted | Your appeal has been received and is under review. |
| Appeal Approved | Your appeal was successful and funding has been approved. |
| Appeal Rejected | Your appeal was not successful. You can contact NSFAS for more information. |
| On Hold | Your application is temporarily on hold pending additional information or verification. |
| Cancelled | Your application has been cancelled. Contact NSFAS for more information. |
| Incomplete Application | Your application is missing required documents or information. Please submit the missing items. |
| Documents Required | NSFAS requires additional documents to process your application. |
| Documents Received | Your documents have been received and are being reviewed. |
| Verification in Progress | NSFAS is verifying the information and documents you submitted. |
| Referred for Review | Your application has been referred for additional review by NSFAS. |
