To qualify for the Compensation Fund, you generally need to meet the following requirements:
1. Vocational Rehabilitation Bursary:
- South African citizen
- Unemployed Compensation Fund pensioner (previous worker) who suffered occupational injuries or diseases and therefore acquired a permanent disability
- OR other unemployed people with physical disabilities
- Want to improve your skills to return to working or become self-employed
- Accepted to study full-time at one of the following recognized institutes: Public Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges/ Community Education and Training (CET) Colleges/ Higher Education Institution (HEI)
- Combined household income is NO more than R600 000 per year
2. Dependents of Compensation Fund Bursary:
- South African citizen
- Dependents of Compensation Fund pensioner
- Between 17 and 25 years old
- Accepted to study full-time within one of the aforementioned fields of study
- Accepted to study at one of the following recognized institutes: Public Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges/ Higher Education Institution (HEI)
- Combined household income is NO more than R600 000 per year
- Tuition fees quote and Prescribed Learning Resources quote
3. Young student Bursary:
- South African citizen
- Between 17 and 25 years old
- Accepted to study full-time within one of the aforementioned fields of study
- Entering your 1st year of studies
- Accepted to study at a Higher Education Institution (HEI)
- Combined household income is no more than R600 000 per year
- Tuition fees quote and Prescribed Learning Resources quote
