A paramedic course is a program of study that prepares individuals to provide advanced medical care and transportation for critically ill and injured patients. The course typically includes both classroom instruction and hands-on training in areas such as anatomy and physiology, assessment and management of traumatic injuries, advanced airway management, and administration of medication. Upon completion of a paramedic course, students are eligible to take a certification exam to become a licensed paramedic. In the US, National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) is an organization responsible for certifying Emergency Medical Services professionals in the nation.
