Being deafblind doesn’t necessarily mean you are totally deaf and/or totally blind. Most people who are deafblind have some sight and some hearing.
The extent to which deaf-blind individuals can see varies widely and depends on the specific cause and type of their deafblindness.
Some deaf-blind individuals may have some residual vision, while others may be completely blind. The same is true for hearing, as some deaf-blind individuals may have some residual hearing, while others may be completely deaf.
It’s important to note that deaf-blindness can also refer to individuals who have significant vision and hearing loss, but are not completely deaf and blind. In these cases, the individual’s ability to see and hear may be limited, but not completely absent.
